A kayak, snorkel and guided-tour operator that managed bookings by phone and spreadsheet eliminated overbookings, opened an international channel in three languages and grew seasonal bookings by 55%.
The company handled activity bookings (kayak, snorkel, guided tours) by phone, WhatsApp and email. In peak season, calls piled up and tourists who didn't get a reply booked with a competitor before anyone could get back to them. Capacity was tracked in a shared spreadsheet nobody updated in real time, causing weekly overbookings (a guide turning up with 12 people on the list and only 9 real spots) and awkward decisions on the dock. International tourists — a growing share of the business — couldn't even see availability online. Without a digital channel, every booking cost human time and the revenue ceiling was basically the capacity to answer phones.
We built a bespoke web platform with Next.js, Supabase and Stripe, multilingual (Spanish, English, French) from day one. Each activity has its own page with photos, description, duration, included gear and required level. The booking engine shows live availability by day and time slot, with automatic seat lock the moment checkout starts. Payment runs online through Stripe (card, Apple/Google Pay) and triggers an automated confirmation email with QR code via Resend. The platform syncs with Google Calendar for guides, with an internal panel where the team manages weather holds, reinforcements and waiting lists. Multilingual local SEO, TouristTrip + Offer schema and rich results to rank on international tourism searches.
